Read full review.This is Signal Generator For SainSmart DDS-140 PC-Based Oscilloscope. Also, it seems to have more than one life. If you are looking for something to work with low voltage, this will do fine for the DIY experimenter. Hooked it back up to the laptop and guess what? It began to work! Used it to check a circuit board with the 1mv test signal and it worked just fine. Went inside the DDS-120's box and took a look. Good for some that really know all the tricks to look for, but not good for this old farmer. Even though I was set up for 50 volts with the probe, I missed something and even if I could get it repaired, I would not be comfortable using it. My opinion is that the five volts input max allows too much room for error. I am sticking with the little DSO-138, do the math, and make drawings. There must have been a load somewh ere even though the laptop was not plugged into AC. There was a little hiss inside the DDS-120 and it became a nice little paper weight. Using a DSO-138 oscilloscope to make sure everything was safe and the out put was a nasty looking DC at five volts., I put the probe on 10x, attached the ground to negative and touched the positive output. It was set up to check the DC out put from the rectifier into a load while the input AC was controlled. I decided to use it to check out a suspected full bridge rectifier from a welder so that I could compare the saved video with a known good rectifier. I really like that it did all the math and you could save the information. It checked out with my Heath Kit Oscilloscope calibrator.
